Beis Tefillah

For one who is ill on his sickbed

I accept the suffering with love, and will see to the doctor and the remedies, for You gave the doctor permission to heal; yet my eyes hang on You, for my healing is only in Your hand

Ribbono shel Olam, I know that You have chastised me with justice, for my good, to atone for my sins. Therefore I do not kick against the suffering, Heaven forbid; on the contrary, I am glad of it and accept it with love. But it pains me greatly, how much I fall short in Your service because of the suffering; and therefore I am ready to busy myself with remedies, so that my body will be healthy and strong for Your service, for You gave the doctor permission to heal, as You made known to us through Your servants, the Sages of Yisrael. Yet my eyes hang on You, for I know that my healing is only in Your hand. Therefore I lay my supplication before You, that You send me the doctor and the remedies I need at this time and season, and heal me with a complete healing among all the sick of Your people Yisrael, healing of the soul and healing of the body; for You are G-d, the merciful and faithful Healer.
